What is Collaborative Divorce?
A non adversarial system where specially trained attorney's work together with the family that is going through a divorce in a more "people centered approach" to reach a mutually beneficial agreement without having to go to court. A team of professionals work with the family to determine what approach would be best for them. In this process both parties have an attorney, and at least one neutral (counselor, financial advisor) to assist the family in settling all the intricate important decisions, instead of having a judge make them for you. This is not like litigation because the attorneys are not working against one another; but together toward the same goal: a mutually beneficial agreement for the family without having to go to court.
